Pebbles Beach (off Bay Street, south of Bridgetown, Needham’s Point, St. Michael Parish) – located just south of Bridgetown, this white sand beach is one of Barbados’ best (with the southern end wrapping around the Hilton Barbados hotel). Due to its calm waters, it’s ideal for swimming (including children). Such waters are also ideal for paddle boarding enthusiasts. Horseback riders have also gone through these waters.
There is not much shade at Pebbles Beach so bring along a beach umbrella. Snacks and cool drinks can be purchased from the mini mart at the Shell Gas Station just a few minutes’ walk away. Most visitors and locals who bathe at Pebbles Beach will tell you not to miss the opportunity to savor some of the best fish sandwiches (cutters we call them!) from Cuz’s Fish Stand right next to the beach. While food trucks are now all the rage in the U.S., Barbados has always had a culture of food stands and food vans.
